Export Import Code
The Importer-Exporter Code (IEC) is a key business identification number which is mandatory for Exports or Imports. No person shall make any import or export except under an IEC Number granted by the DGFT. In case of import or export of services or technology, the IEC shall be required only when the service or technology provider is taking benefits under the Foreign Trade Policy or is dealing with specified services or technologies. Now existing registered person also required to update the same.
Advanced Authorisation
Advance Authorisation Scheme allows duty free import of inputs, which are physically incorporated in an export product. In addition to any inputs, packaging material, fuel, oil, catalyst which is consumed / utilized in the process of production of export product, is also be allowed. Advance Authorisation covers manufacturer exporters or merchant exporters tied to supporting manufacturer(s).
EPCG
EPCG Scheme allows import of capital goods for pre-production, production and post-production at zero customs duty. Alternatively, the exporter may also procure Capital Goods from domestic market in accordance with provisions of paragraph 5.07 of FTP. Capital goods for the purpose of the EPCG scheme shall include-Capital Goods as defined in Chapter 9, Computer systems and software which are a part of the Capital Goods, Spares, moulds, dies, jigs, fixtures, tools & refractories, Catalysts for initial charge plus one subsequent charge.
EPCG scheme covers manufacturer exporters with or without supporting manufacturer(s), merchant exporters tied to supporting manufacturer(s) and service providers.
Certificate Management
To facilitate the management of various certificates issued by DGFT such as the Identity card, Free sale and Commerce Certificate, End User Certificate, and Status Holder Certificate, an importer/exporter may choose to apply for a certificate and manage. certificates of Origin is also an important document required by exporters.
